Post Of The Day - More Silent Films - 1921

Film offerings at area theaters for the week of 04-10-Sep-1921. Note showings at the Oil City and Trees YMCAs - presumably more wholesome environments than downtown Oil City. The "Y"s existed likely only two to three years. A notice of the opening of the Oil City "hut" in June 1920 stated it included a gymnasium, could hold 300 persons, and provided entertainment on Thursday through Saturday Nights. Other than this film advertisement, the only other information found about the Trees "Y" was its apparent disbandment - a November 1923 classified ad by that organization to sell 45 armchairs and 100 folding chairs, as well as two pool tables, a large coffee urn, and...a movie projector.
