Mrs. Essie McKibbin was elected to the state-wide position of warden in 1935.

Rose Cagle was part of a Louisiana delegation that visited New York City as part of a "United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth" in 1961.

She and other Oil City residents and North Caddo High students Kay Saulsbury and Frances Rowell (elected president) were among officers installed at the 1961 state convention of Theta Rho. That is the junior order of the Daughters of Rebekah, itself affiliated with the Order of Odd Fellows.
