Artist Mary McLeod (Clayton) meets Phillip Dominick (Rawlinson), the son of a wealthy woman, on a Pullman car on a train bound for the city. When she informs the conductor that she has left her purse behind, Phillip magnanimously gives up his stateroom for her. The chance acquaintance ripens to love and they get married. The match does not meet the approval of Phillip's mother (McDowell), and when they go to live with her, she makes life almost unbearable for Mary. The wife also becomes disgusted at the idle life led by her husband. Then a baby is born to them. Phillip goes on a camping trip, and while he is absent the child dies. Upon his return Mary decides to leave him. Phillip follows her to her studio and announces that his mother's money has been a curse. He swears that he will be a man from then on, and Mary knows happiness lies ahead for them.
Jeanne, an orphaned young heiress, is about to be married off to an elderly man by her scheming aunt, who stands to make money on the marriage, a fact of which Jeanne is unaware. Jeanne is also unaware that her aunt heads a ring that runs crooked card games, and one night Jeanne attends a fixed bridge game at which her aunt hopes to cheat a wealthy young man out of his money. There Jeanne has two life-changing experiences.
Summary:
Gambler Oak Miller seeks revenge on the man who misused his sister Rose, who is ill and under the care of the woman Oak loves, Barbara. The man Oak seeks, Granger, is planning to rob a wagon train with the collusion of the Indians under Chief Long Knife. When Barbara is suspected of killing her lascivious stepfather, Oak takes the blame and is arrested just before he is needed to save the threatened wagon train.

Synopsis:
Marian Westover ( Gloria Swanson ) is loved by wealthy young Cullen Dale ( Wallace Reid ) and his best friend, Harvey Gilroy ( Elliott Dexter ), but the latter's loyalty to Dale keeps him silent. After they both sustain injuries in a polo game, Cullen shows particular solicitude in caring for his friend. Cullen proposes to and is accepted by Marian, but she becomes jealous of his former girl friends, and when Jessica Ramsey ( Dorothy Cumming ) arrives and tries to capture Cullen, Marian fails in emulating her athletic prowess. Jessica invites the couple to a mountain lodge, but when Marian refuses to go Cullen sweeps her into an automobile and has a marriage ceremony performed. She returns home, and Cullen goes on to the lodge, keeping his marriage secret. A storm prevents Cullen from returning home, and Marian, in alarm, enlists the aid of Gilroy; at the lodge everything is explained to the satisfaction of all but Jessica.
